Unfortunately Lindsay Nicholson, our advertised speaker has been obliged to cancel and will be replaced by Bill Kentish Barnes whose talk will be: “Goldwork – its history, development and use in the modern world”.   Bill Kentish Barnes is probably the last practicing gold and silver wyre drawer in England today.  He would like to share with you the history and development of this special unique craft.  His products, besides embroidery, range from the magnificent gold used in pageantry, such as Trooping the Colour, to the beautiful threads used for restoration purposes such as Windsor Castle and the vestments displayed in the Church. Bill would like to tell us the story of how an unusual and ancient craft, not only survived, but adapted to our modern world.    During the talk an array of gold and silver threads will be displayed.
If you have already booked your place particularly to hear Lindsay Nicholson and would like to cancel please contact Diana Kentish Barnes who will either arrange a refund or will carry over payment for a future lunch.

The menu for lunch is:

 Main Course:
Confit of duck leg with Dauphinoise potatoes, fruit red cabbage and a red wine jus
Stuffed roasted pepper with spiced Moroccan cous cous, mint & coriander Salsa
