Tour of the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers’ Proof House
for four people including lunch.
The Gunmakers Company is one of a very small number of City Livery Companies which still practices its historic function. The Company’s London Proof House is one of the only two locations in the country which are responsible for testing (“proofing”) all guns sold in the United Kingdom.  On this tour, you will learn something about the history of the Livery and see how guns are proofed in the 21st century; the tour will be conducted by the Clerk to the Company and the Proofmaster. Molly – A Cold Cast Lifesize Bronze Sculpture by Mary Cox
Mary lives and works in Sussex.  She specializes in bronze and bronze resin garden sculptures, limited edition bronzes and portrait heads.  Her portrait heads include bronzes of Malcolm Muggeridge, Bill Deedes and eminent members of the legal profession. She has exhibited at Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court, Tatton Park, Pashley Manor Gardens and has several works here at Framfield Grange.  As well as works in churches and hospitals, Mary’s public commissions include a bronze of a Royal Engineer in full desert combats – a tribute from Maidstone Borough Council.   Kindly donated by Mary Cox  Reserve: £1,200

Juxtaposition of Warehouses by Robin Alexander Elliott (1936-2023) – oil on canvas 34 ¾ x 34 ¾ inches
Robin Elliott trained at Sidcup School of Art between 1951 and 1956, studying under Frank Auerbach and Jack Smith, amongst others.  His paintings have been exhibited at The Llewellyn Alexander Gallery, London and at many galleries in Kent and Sussex including Pallant House, Chichester.
