Jubilee Art Event

Platinum Jubilee Art Project

To celebrate HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and support our Sussex hospice care providers 70 artists of all abilities copied a section of a portrait by pop artist Malgorzata Nierobisz, using various media.  The 70 sections were then collated to form this finished artwork, exhibited in the Alleluia Hall over the Jubilee weekend as part of the Waldron Jubilee Jamboree.  The artwork fetched £700 when auctioned at the end of the exhibition.

We are grateful to Malgorzata Nierobisz for giving us permission to use her stunning and colourful original painting for this unusual collaborative project; to everyone who took part in painting sections of it; Maggie Thurgood and Tom Acton for skilfully dissecting and collating the sections; to Richard Fanshawe for photographing it and to Uckfield Framing Company for its generous support.
The project has raised just over £2000 from donations and the auction.

Postcard copies of the finished artwork (7ins x 5ins) are available to be purchased online in packs of 10.
Packs are £6.00 to include postage.
